Every Allied gaming desktop starts with the case, and is available in two variants: -A for AMD Ryzen processors, and -I for Intel Core processors.

The Allied Stinger-I and Stinger-A

The Allied Stinger is a compact M-ATX sized case, featuring a stylised front panel with integrated ventilation, 2 x 120mm intake and 1 x 120mm exhaust fans, a transparent side panel to showcase the interior components and allow RGB effects to shine through, and a premium gloss-white paint finish.

The Stinger is best suited to entry-level, budget and medium tier gaming PC builds, supporting up to Ryzen 5 5000 series and 10th gen Intel Core i7 processors, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX and RTX and AMD Radeon graphics.

The Allied Patriot-I and Patriot-A

The Allied Patriot is a robust ATX sized case, with a full mesh front panel and 3 x 120mm RGB fans and 1 x 120mm exhaust fan installed, which deliver unrestricted airflow to internal components, plus top ventilation protected by a magnetized dust filter. A toughened, tempered glass side panel provides crystal clear viewing of your high-end components, including up to AMD Ryzen 9 5000 series and 10th gen Intel Core i9 processors and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics cards.

Being capable of housing such high-tier components does not mean the Patriot is out of reach – quite the opposite. With base configurations featuring AMD Ryzen 5 and 10th gen Intel Core i5 processors, the Patriot scales wonderfully well from budget-friendly configurations all the way through middle-tier and into ultra-high-end gaming builds.

The Allied M.O.A.B.-I and M.O.A.B.-A

The Allied M.O.A.B. is a juggernaut – a full-tower ATX behemoth case that is both imposing and impressive in its size, scale and functionality. Individually built from premium aluminium alloy and featuring toughened tempered glass panels on both sides, the M.O.A.B. can hold every consumer processor and graphics card on the market, and is compatible with the Allied DeepFreeze liquid cooling system to cool them.

If you’re serious about your PC gaming, and doubly serious about making a visual statement with your PC tower, the M.O.A.B. is the gaming desktop for you.

The eternal question: Intel or AMD?

AMD’s Ryzen processors have been transformative for the industry, bringing competition in performance and price, and therefore value for money, back to level pegging. While Intel’s 10th generation sees them still hold the title of world’s fastest gaming processor with the 10 core/20 thread Intel Core i9 10900K processor, AMD’s monster 12 core/24 thread Ryzen 9 5900X is perhaps one of the best high-end desktop processor on the market in terms of pure output overall – a productivity powerhouse that just happens to smash out 4K gaming.

The Intel Core i7 10700K and AMD Ryzen 7 5700X slug it out in the 8-core arena, trading blows evenly across a range of AAA titles, with the Ryzen 7’s value for money probably giving it the slight upper hand. But it’s a close-run thing. Paired with a high-end GPU and gaming monitor, both are true 1440P and 4K gaming powerhouses in their own right. The Allied Patriot-I, Patriot-A, M.O.A.B.-I and M.O.A.B.-A sport these incredible processors.

The 6-core battle is even more intense – it’s here where AMD’s Ryzen 5 series has gained tremendous ground and generally holds sway in consumer sentiment because of their improved single-threaded performance, and value for money. The Ryzen 5 3600 is Australia’s number 1 gaming desktop processor, and with good reason. However, Intel’s Core i5 10600K CPU performs so well under boost at 4.8GHz that it rivals any other pure gaming processors’ performance…even the i9 10900K. It’s quite a chip. Look for these processors in the versatile Allied Stinger-I, Stinger-A, Allied Patriot-I and Patriot-A desktop PCs.

In the 4-core wars, AMD’s new Ryzen 3 3100 and 3300X processors have been hailed as the “new budget kings”, delivering gaming performance to equal or better of their hexa-core and even octa-core cousins from previous generations. The 10th generation Intel Core i3 now matches the Ryzen 3 range with 4 cores and 8 threads and a base clock speed of 3.6GHz. You’ll find these processors in the budget-friendly Allied Stinger-I and Stinger-A desktop PCs.

There is serious competition for both gaming and productivity applications all the way through every operating system and processor tier, and there’s only one winner because of that: you. Whichever you choose, you can’t lose.

Refer to this table for the processors you’ll find in our range of desktop gaming PCs.

Intel Core Processors AMD Ryzen Processors
Stinger-I Core i3 10100 to Core i7 10700K Stinger-A Ryzen 3 3100 to Ryzen 5 5600X
Patriot-I Core i5 10400 to Core i9 10900K Patriot-A Ryzen 5 3500X to Ryzen 9 5900X
M.O.A.B.-I Core i7 10700 to Core i9 10900K M.O.A.B.-A Ryzen 7 3700X to Ryzen 9 5900X

Our views on the best desktop gaming graphics cards are covered more broadly in this article, but generally speaking, NVIDIA’s range of GeForce RTX and GTX graphics cards provide extraordinary technology and performance throughout the range, from entry-level Esports and 1080P gaming at lower resolutions with GTX 1650, through the mid-tiers of 1080P gaming on high settings with GTX 1660 Super and RTX 3060, into the upper echelons of 1440P, ultra settings graphics in Geforce RTX 3070, right up to the very pinnacle of performance in 4K resolution, ultra-settings gaming delivered by the monstrous RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 cards. RTX cards also offer Ray-Tracing support, providing lighting effects never before seen in consumer-level GPUs.

AMD’s Radeon RX range has also given HD-joy to gamers along the spectrum, particularly in the higher-end performance areas with their latest released RX 6700 XT, which pushes into 1440P resolutions and ultra settings on par with all but the most powerful of NVIDIA’s offerings. The RX 6800, RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT directly trade blows with NVIDIA’s higher-end range and are most likely seen as the value options due difference between them.

Just like in the processor market, with such fierce competition, it’s gamers who stand to benefit by getting more frames at lower dollars. And that’s the very definition of win-win-win.

There’s much more to a gaming PC than just the case, processor and graphics card. If you were building your own PC, you’d need to consider all the other critical hardware for the best gaming experience: memory, storage capacity/hard drives, power supply, processor cooling, networking, and the motherboard to bring it all together, plus case lighting and case cooling, all the while maintaining compatibility with your chosen chipset, eliminating hardware conflicts and extracting great performance. While there is no shortage of information online, the process of knowing where to start, understanding what you should be looking for, and deciding which information is credible, and then making a decision can be overwhelming, to put it mildly. Check out our thoughts on the best gaming desktop components here.

Decades of experience working with premium brands mean we know exactly what you need, and Allied’s range of power supplies, memory, storage, processor and system cooling options have been designed with the same dedication to reliability, performance and value for money we stand for across our entire product range. And where we don’t (yet) offer our own branded componentry, we’ve partnered with the industry’s biggest names, brands and manufacturers that meet those same standards.

When configuring your custom gaming desktop PC, we’ve taken the guesswork out of choosing the best gaming desktop components for your build. Simply choose the component you want in your build, line by line, and we’ll do the rest. You don’t have to worry about compatibility, you won’t face a mind-numbing list of brands, models and specifications, and when it arrives, everything will just work.

Our range of gaming desktop PCs is complemented by an equally impressive and ever-expanding range of gaming laptops. The Allied Tomcat is a 15.6” unit available in both AMD and Intel variants, while the Allied Hornet-I, sporting a 17.1” screen, features a powerful Intel Core i7 10th generation processor. All units pack powerful, discrete NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics cards. We’ve discussed some of the pros and cons of whether a gaming desktop is better than a gaming laptop in this article.

Gaming laptops are incredibly attractive propositions given they blend near-desktop-level processing and graphical performance with the added benefit of portability, but nothing beats the brute grunt and unrestricted cooling options of a desktop gaming PC. So if customization, aesthetics, flexibility and Palpatinesque-unlimited power are important to you, you can’t go past an Allied gaming desktop PC.

While high-tier components like NVIDIA’s RTX 3090 24GB graphics card, AMD’s Ryzen 9 5900X and Intel’s Core i9 10900K processors deliver the ultimate in graphical and processing performance, there’s no denying the fact that you pay a significant premium for that power. On the flip side, many PC gaming veterans rank the humble NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB as the single-best graphics card in terms of frames delivered per dollar spent ever made. So it’s all about perspective, intended use, and of course, a realistic budget.

With such a diverse range of budget, middle and high-tier processor and graphics options available across the Allied Gaming Desktop PC range, the simple truth is that you don’t have to shell out an entire month’s salary or more to get considerable value for your hard-earned.

The fully customizable Allied Stinger-A and Stinger-I start firmly in the budget territory, with AMD Ryzen 3 and Intel Core i3 processors and GTX 1650 4GB graphics options, but scale wonderfully well into medium and high-tier system specifications.

The versatile Allied Patriot-A and Patriot-I configurations begin in the middle tier, with 1080P-friendly specifications based around AMD Ryzen 5 and Intel Core i5 processors and NVIDIA GTX 1660 SUPER 6GB graphics, but can be souped-up to high-spec-heaven, capable of hosting AMD Ryzen 9 and Intel Core i9 processors and powerful NVIDIA RTX 3000 Series and AMD RX 6000 Series graphics cards.

The mighty Allied M.O.A.B.-A and M.O.A.B.-I desktop PCs leave no performance stone unturned, housing the most powerful consumer-grade desktop processors, computer accessories, and graphics cards available on the market.

And the best thing about all of these? They all come fully assembled and supported by industry experts, whose passion for PC gaming matches your own, at realistic prices. This really is game-changing for the custom-built PC industry.

So, what is the best gaming desktop? We’ve examined that in terms of our desktop lineup in this article. The M.O.A.B. is the clear leader in terms of the potential technology within, thanks largely to its size and compatibility with all leading consumer gaming desktop processors and graphics cards, plus 360mm radiators and our DeepFreeze custom liquid cooling solutions, to keep CPU and GPU temperatures bottomed-out while extracting their maximum possible performance.

The M.O.A.B. is not for everyone though, we get that – not everyone has the physical or pecuniary space for such a beast in their gaming setup. That’s why both the Stinger and Patriot desktop PCs have been specifically designed to cater to gamers of all types in their own rights, with a range of clever design choices to maximize aesthetics, performance and value for money.

That’s why, no matter your budget, platform preference or library of games you need to play through, there’s an Allied gaming desktop PC that will be the best gaming desktop for you.
